Work With A Recruiter Who Understands Your Business and Your Needs

There is a right recruiter and a wrong recruiter, but the good news is it’s not too hard to figure out who’s who. We’re talking about someone who is going to help you find the right people to move your business forward. There’s still no reliable algorithm for this sort of thing (finding the right employee), but you could probably benefit from some help. You need someone with a deep understanding of your company, your industry as well as its current labor market trends.

Starting the Search Right

You know how people say “it’s a process” as sort of an excuse for not knowing what they’re doing? Well some of that is unavoidable, but not all of it. So many companies don’t really know how to ask for what they’re looking for, or even worse don’t really know what they’re looking for. A recruiter with a specialty in your industry will have a better idea of how far you can stretch roles and responsibilities, as well as a better sense for how to prioritize different attributes like, say experience over attitude for a certain position. This way you start the process out right from the gate.

Some companies have such high turnover rates because they don’t examine the roles they’re filling, so they keep trying to jam the square peg into a circle. And this is not good for morale, and this really costs your company. A good recruiter will let you know what’s working at other places like yours, as well as what’s not.

Alleviating some of the administrative duties, let’s you focus on what sort of tradeoffs you’re going to make in deciding who you’re going to hire.
